Coffee
Pictorials
After discovering the wonderful fun of coffee washes, I was inspired to create a concentration of pieces reflecting everday (or not so everday) activities with a twist from my own imagination. Small random objects within each piece express how life is unpredictable and we can make each situation a sweet one if we try. Sometimes life doesn't entirely make too much sense but reflecting back on some memories will make you realize that despite the situation, there was always something good or even something twisted that will make you smile. In the end, that was my goal.

NATURE
of
MECHANICS
I was inspired to create a concentration focusing on two contrasting elements; nature and mechanics. By interweaving the two, it created a balance that can be compared to the beauty of contrast in our society today. As each day progresses, technology is taking a more prominent stand in one's life, and this concentration focuses on the harmony between life and mechanics (even if it's just a small detail).

Miscellaneous
Sometimes not all pieces always go together, so this is where they end up. Each of these pieces are not part of a bigger picture, but rather, stand strong on their own. Noticing the diversity in styles within this section, it's evident that I've been inspired by many different things. Experimentation with color, Gestalt effect, different principles of art, and new types of media have helped me to grow as an artist, and these pieces are the result.

DIGITAL
PHOTOGRAPHY
Inspired by environmental issues, I decided to depict the dramatic effects of an oil spill. Rather than showing the effects on those whom it devastates, I figured we should turn it back to those who started it--humans. By using black and white photography, I wanted to capture the emotion given rather than the color actually shown. With a higher contrast, the impact is larger to the audience.
I was also assigned a project to create a series of photos inspired by your favorite photographer; mine being Bill Brandt. He captures his subjects by featuring their natural form and using distortion by placement of lighting. I also wanted to capture the natural form and use lighting to create a different view.
Street Painting
Supplies used are: chalk pastel, baby powder, hair spray, rubber gloves, knee pads, plastic covers, PLENTY of water, camera to record progression made, reference pictures and headphones to block out disney music.
After all the hard work it paid off! 24 hours of pure finger-grinding on the ground won us disney quest and tickets to the parks AND $100. (I wouldv'e liked more.)
What is street painting?
Street painting is a large format form of creating images using chalk pastel on the ground. It is a time consuming process and it is definitely physical. Hours are spent on the ground creating masterpieces out of chalk. Impressive? I 'd say so.
