Inspiration & Technique:
I'm deeply inspired by my favorite random things of life, from birds
to delectable sweets such as cupcakes and pies. I feel its those random
objects in my illustrations that show how life is unpredictable and that
describe what kind of person I am. With that being said, through my
techniques I'm able to make the whole piece work with harmony.
How do I do it?
I'm quite picky when it comes to paper, so I stick with a thick printmaking
paper and start with a pencil sketch. After establishing my ideas, I then
define the image in pen and go over with a coffee wash. After choosing a
color scheme, I paint using a mix of coffee and watercolor/ink. When I'm
finally satisfied, I use iridescent and gloss medium as final touches.
